1 – Microsoft Keynote

Date: Tuesday, March 22nd

Time: 10:00 am – 10:30 am

Nicole Herskowitz will be presenting the Microsoft keynote for this year’s conference.

Herskowitz’s two-decade experience at Microsoft has seen her take on leadership roles at Microsoft Azure, Sharepoint, and Visual Studio.

Clearly, this is one keynote that Teams users should look forward to at Enterprise Connect 2022.

Collaborators will find out how new innovations in Teams will make the workplace of the current day better.

As a speaker at different Microsoft sessions about businesses in the hybrid workplace, it’s never been more clear that Herskowitz’s focus at Teams is to help businesses transition to hybrid workplaces.

Some of the new Teams features we should hope to have light shed on include:

And what do you know, Microsoft Teams have already kicked off the year with exciting chat features like their 1,800+ new 3D emojis.

2 – Zoom Keynote

Date: Tuesday, March 23rd

Time: 10:00 am – 10:30 am

Perhaps no other company can claim to have Zoom’s growth in the remote work era.

Under their stewardship, team collaboration language has changed from “I’m going to work” to “I’m working”. The true meaning of work is what you do instead of where you go.

We all want it to remain that way.

So delivering the keynote, Zoom communications deputy CIO, Gary Sorrentino, will show us the company’s plans to transition into the hybrid work era.

Partners and users will be eager to hear about the latest Zoom innovations to make that next step. Zoom just launched a new UI for its Zoom Rooms devices, and we’re looking forward to more potential new features (especially for Zoom Chat).

Speaking about the just concluded Zoomtopia session, Principal Analyst at Futurum Research, Daniel Newman said, “I am particularly impressed with how Zoom’s plans for new solutions, like Zoom Video Engagement Center and Zoom Whiteboard, could continue to broaden Zoom’s impact on different facets of our work and lives.”

Hopefully, there’s even more exciting stuff from Gary Sorrentino come the 23rd of March in Orlando.

3 – Cisco Keynote

Date: Tuesday, March 22nd

Time: 10:45 am – 11:15 am

The Cisco Keynote will be delivered by Javed Khan, Senior VP and General Manager of Cisco Collaboration.

You can expect to find out the latest Webex innovations that will help build the future of work.

In recent weeks, Khan revealed some exciting new Webex features for the hybrid workforce.

Some noteworthy features include:

  • Webex Audio Intelligence
  • Enhanced Webex interpretation capabilities and roles
New Webex features
  • Immersive webinars through the acquisition of Socio
Socio for Webex

But beyond Webex, it would be great to hear about other AI and machine learning driven enterprise-grade improvements at Cisco.

The move to introduce technology like the Cisco Silicon One architecture has caught the eye of many.

Businesses will enjoy the hybrid workplace with the most impressive network capabilities, therefore, Cisco’s adoption of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture is necessary for secure connections.

Since improved tech and security in the new era is a major theme of Enterprise Connect 2022, users are hopeful to hear Javed Khan shed a light on innovations that will address those themes.

4 – Can You Live with Multiple Collaboration Apps?

Date: Monday, March 21

Time: 9:00 am – 9:45 am

Founder and Principal Consultant of 4C Strategies Limited, Dave Mailer, will be the facilitator for this virtual peer discussion.

This chat will revolve around enterprises with end users and members of departments that use multiple collaboration apps other than the standardized one for that particular enterprise.

The agenda looks like:

  • What problems are caused by this practice?
  • How can said problems be solved?
  • Are there any advantages when your enterprise allows the use of other collaboration apps besides the standardized one?

This session will help you find solutions that others have come up with for this nuanced problem.

5 – New Issues in Team Collaboration Security

Date: Monday, March 21

Time: 9:00 am – 9:45 am

The speaker for this breakout session will be the President and Principal Analyst at Metrigy, Irwin Lazar.

Four other software executives will be panelists, including:

  • Niraj Gopal (Head of Product Management for Webex Platform)
  • Douglas Tait (Global Director of Marketing for Telecommunications at Oracle)
  • Walter Kenrich (Sr Director of Product Management at Ribbon)
  • Brandon Long (Collaboration Security & Governance Architect at Unify Square)

The session will see these industry experts discuss the effects of the everchanging team collaboration capabilities on security.

They will address issues like the emerging risks of team collaboration apps adoption, best practices for defining security policies that will be enforced in collaboration apps, and how to utilize available tools like Cisco Cloudlock for security.

On previous occasions, Irwin Lazar has wielded the wealth of data available to him at Metrigy to address the need for proactive security in team collaboration applications.

It will be interesting to get insights on security in the dynamic team collaboration space with the four other panelists also contributing from their own experiences at their companies.

6 – Women in Communications Roundtable: Spotlighting Excellence

Date: Monday, March 21

Time: 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm

This breakout session will be moderated by Lisa Schmeiser, Editor-in-Chief at No Jitter and program co-chair for Enterprise Connect 2022.

The panelists will be Jocelyn DeMaio, Head of Collaboration Services and User Experience at The Hartford Financial Group, and Sinead Aylward, VP of Contact Center Technology, Endurance.

This session will address workplace strategies for women in the imminent hybrid work era.

There are several obstacles that women have to navigate in the workplace, and more so when we transition through different eras.

For example, according to Harvard Business Review, 50% percent of women with children prefer complete remote work than men.

Work from home differences between mothers and fathers will be discussed at Enterprise Connect

Therefore the transition to a hybrid workplace will have its effects on this demographic.

This session will see the moderator and panelists share experiences and advice to help attending members chart their own course. More importantly, “higher ups” at different companies can listen in to see how they can pivot in the new era to foster inclusive practices for all.

The session will end with Enterprise Connect’s program to honor outstanding women in enterprise IT/communications organizations – the 2022 Spotlight Awards. Then, Enterprise Connect will host a Women in Communications networking reception.

7 – The Realities and Challenges of Video Conferencing Room Interoperability

Date: Monday, March 21

Time: 10:15 am – 11:00 am

In this session, Jim Kelly, Senior Analyst at Recon Research will talk about the challenges of interoperability between leading video call platforms like Cisco, Microsoft, Zoom, etc.

Today, video calls between some platforms aren’t possible, and in places where they are, features are sometimes lost.

Recon Research is a market research and consulting firm in the enterprise communications space. So there’s probably no one better than a senior analyst from Recon Research to speak on the importance of interop for video collaboration and A/V solutions today.

As keen onlookers into all things interoperability, this is a session of real interest to us at Mio.

8 – Real-World Lessons in Driving User Adoption

Date: Thursday, March 24

Time: 9:00 am – 9:45 am

Developing and creating useful technology is one thing. Successful adoption is another. And it sure is important.

That is why Founder of Swartz Consulting, Melissa Swartz, and Senior Solutions and Customer Success Advisor at Enabling Technologies Corp, Vallorie Weires, will be in charge of this session.

Enterprises will get takeaways on building a framework for increasing adoption of UC technology. You can expect tips on:

  • What form and amount of training is needed
  • Creating a feedback loop and incorporating responses
  • Defining personas and their WIIFM (what’s in it for me?)

9 – Cloud Best-of-Breed vs Best-of-Suite: Do You Really Need to Choose?

Date: Wednesday, March 23

Time: 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm

When evaluating cloud solutions for your enterprise, do you:

  1. Trust a single vendor to provide communications and customer management solutions in a single suite?
  2. Or do you employ the best-of-breed approach for messaging, meeting, and contact services?
Best of breed vs best of suite

Elka Popova, Vice President at Frost and Sullivan and Esther Yoon, AVP of Product Marketing at RingCentral, will host this session and help enterprises learn how to evaluate cloud communications and collaboration offerings based on their business needs.

You will find out what providers are doing to evolve their solutions portfolios. You’ll also discover what other businesses are doing to optimize technology investments.

10 – Locknote

Date: Thursday, March 24

Time: 11:15 am – 12:00 pm

If you haven’t already headed over to Disney World, there’s reason to stick around on Thursday too.

To wrap up the end of Enterprise Connect, the brightest independent minds come together to discuss their thoughts on the industry based on what they saw at the show.

With the General Manager and Program Co-Chair of Enterprise Connect, Eric Krapf, as moderator, panelists will include some experts that led program sessions like:

  1. Sheila McGee-Smith (Founder, McGee-Smith Analytics)
  2. Beth Schultz (VP of Research & Principal Analyst, Metrigy)
  3. Brent Kelly (Principal Analyst, Omdia)
  4. Phil Edholm (President & Founder, PKE Consulting)
  5. Melissa Swartz (Founder, Swartz Consulting)
  6. Dave Michels (Principal Analyst, TalkingPointz)
  7. Zeus Kerravala (Founder & Principal Analyst, ZK Research)

These consultants and analysts will give appraisals on what they consider to be over-hyped and underappreciated technologies from the conference.

They’ll close the program with final tips and suggestions for businesses on the future of the industry.

Have a great Enterprise Connect, and don’t forget to visit the Mio team at booth 1101 ✌️
